Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 20, 2026
PrestoEvent is a free service of PrestoBiz (Zing! Inc.). We take your privacy seriously. We do not sell or rent your information, and we never show ads on your sign-up pages. This policy explains what we collect and why.
Two kinds of people use PrestoEvent, and we treat them differently:
- Organizers create an account and build sign-up sheets.
- Participants sign up on someone's sheet. They have no account and need no password.
What we collect
If you create an account (organizers)
- Your email address, and your name and organization if you give them.
- Your password, stored only as a one-way hash — we cannot read it.
- If you use “Continue with Google”: Google’s account identifier for you, your email address, and the name on your Google account. We never receive your Google password.
- The internet address (IP) your account was created from, and the times you sign in, to limit abuse of a free service.
- Everything you put in a sign-up sheet: its title, description, dates, times, location, slots, questions, pictures and any logo you upload.
If you sign up on someone’s sheet (participants)
- Your name and email address, a phone number if you give one, your answers to the organizer’s questions, and any note you add.
- The internet address (IP) you signed up from, kept to stop automated abuse.
- We email you a confirmation with a private link that lets you change or cancel your sign-up without an account.
Your name may appear on the sign-up page if the organizer chooses to show who signed up, and then only as your first name and last initial — “Priya S.” The form tells you before you submit. Your email address, phone number and answers are never shown publicly; they go to the organizer.
Everyone
- Ordinary web server logs: the page requested, the time, the IP address and the browser.
- Cookies we set to keep you signed in, to protect forms against cross-site attacks, to show a one-time message, and to return you to the template you chose. We set no advertising cookies and allow no advertising networks on these pages.
How we use it
- To run the service: show sign-up pages, take sign-ups, and email confirmations and sign-in links.
- To keep it working and honest: rate limits, the sign-up CAPTCHA, and investigating abuse reports.
- To reach you about your account when we must.
Sign-up sheets are shared by their link and are not indexed by search engines. An organizer’s page is public to anyone holding the link.
Who else sees it
We never sell or rent information, and we never share participants’ details with anyone but the organizer of the sheet they signed up on. We use a small number of providers to run the service:
- Email delivery — to send confirmations and sign-in links.
- Cloudflare Turnstile — the “are you a person” check on account creation.
- Google — only if you choose “Continue with Google”.
- Our hosting provider — the server the service runs on.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it — a subpoena, a court order or legal process — or when we investigate a violation of our Service Terms.
Support staff, and being told about it
PrestoBiz support staff can open your account to help you, with a reason recorded every time. A banner shows on every page for as long as they are looking. Sessions are read-only unless a senior administrator allows a change, every change is recorded, and we email you when a session ends, whether or not anything changed. Staff never see your password.
Keeping and deleting
- Participants can cancel a sign-up at any time with the private link in their confirmation email. The organizer can also remove them.
- Organizers can delete a sign-up sheet, which hides it from everyone.
- We keep account and sign-up information until you ask us to remove it. Write to support@prestoevent.com and we will.
- Backups are kept for a limited period, so deleted information may persist in them briefly.
Security
The whole site is served over HTTPS. Passwords are stored as one-way hashes. Sign-in links and private confirmation links are stored only as hashes, expire, and work once. Staff accounts require a password and a second factor.
Children
PrestoEvent is for adults — parents, teachers, coaches and volunteers. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, write to support@prestoevent.com and we will remove it.
Changes
We may amend this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page, with the date it was last changed at the top.
